camaro lt1 turbo kit

Stock 1997 z28 camaro turbo?

I currently have a stock 1997 z28 camaro LT1 350 6 speed. I want to find a turbo/twin turbo set up for it. I found some twin turbo kits on ebay for cheap but I just want to know what this motor can handle stock, and also if it can handle turbo set up what are some good reliable ones that wont cost alot? I also noticed the ones on ebay only are good for 20k miles, I want something that will last longer than that.

Although twin turbos sounds like an awesome idea for your LT-1, you need to consider better flowing heads to utilize the boost. If you aren’t, then stick with the single turbo and don’t invest in something that won’t pay off. Check with the turbo websites for the diameter of the one best suited for your LT motor.
Off brand turbos are a crap shoot, but no matter what type you use, 2 things are important for turbo life – high quality lubrication & performing a cool down period before shutting the engine off. Nothing fries a turbo faster than cheap oil and shutting down a hot turbo which cooks the oil in the bearings.
Don’t forget to do your homework on intercoolers, exhaust manifolds and ducting. Snatch up a few sbc mags at your local Wally World and do a little research. Also, join a LT-1 online forum so you don’t waste time doing what has already been done. There’s quite a few of them out there.
