i’m having spark issues with my 1968 camaro. got new coil, new cap and rotor, new wires and plugs.?

i just can’t seem to figure out why i can’t get spark to the plugs? i got power into coil, into distributor, but not to the plugs. how much voltage do i need to have going into coil and into cap? and what setting do i put my ohms reader on to check for proper voltage?

1st off, without proper diagnostics you cannot get a proper repair… with that being said…

2nd, it sounds like you have a distributor issue. In other words, you have power to the distributor but not through it. Take the cap off the distributor, crank it over and see if the rotor button is turning. If not then there is the problem, you need either a new distributor shaft or have the old one put in properly.

3rd, you should have 12 VOLTS DC(direct current) into the coil, you should have approximately 50,000 volts dc coming out of the coil, so if you are trying to read volts dc on your dvom then wouldn’t it make sense to read vdc?
